How long should curtains be?

Most curtains should finish 10 mm off the floor. That looks full length but stays clean and clears skirting and door tracks. Touching the floor looks tailored but drags. A 60 mm puddle looks soft and suits rooms where nobody walks past.

Measure from the track, not the window

Curtain length is the drop from the top of the track to the floor. Mount the track high, near the ceiling, and the curtain makes the window look taller.

Sill-length curtains

Only where something sits under the window, like a bench or heater. They make most windows look smaller.
